"Spot On Sound came highly recommended from a colleague in the industry, so I was pleased they bid and won the process.  They were our production (sound and lights) company at four festivals this summer running May - September.  The festivals ranged in size from 3,000 - 50,000 people with 1-5 stages at each event.

There are a number of things I was impressed by in working with Spot On Sound:

•  They are professional from beginning to end and responsive to changing needs
• They staff events appropriately so that if, and when, a challenge occurs the work still gets done
• They keep equipment in their truck they may not need (isn't on the order) so that if something changes it does not require a return to the shop (and have a pricing structure that does not require constant change orders)
• John and his crew do not cut corners, everything is done well and with time to spare
• Their staff is skilled and knowledgeable about the gear and are willing to make changes on-site - this both includes requests and suggestions from me and suggestions from them to make the event work better.

The sound and lights worked really well.  While I always have a baseline expectation that the sound will sound good and the lights will look good, they consistently went above and beyond to make us feel like we had big show type quality on a little show budget.

I arrived first, John and Kevin introduced themselves and we started the process of my setup. The first thing I noticed was the questions Kevin had for me. They were few and direct and were questions that could not have been answered via rider but were very insightful and important. Ones that I wish every sound engineer would ask. That right away gave me a comfort level like we had worked together for years. I didn't need to hear the end product to know that these guys were serious and good at their jobs. The rest of the players showed and checked, and as we moved closer to sound check, it was obvious that we were going to sound outstanding.

S.O.S. becomes a part of the band and has as much at risk as the band and they deliver. We could not wait to play. The show was outstanding and the best way to know how good it really was is when you get re-booked on the spot - well you know the band was good but only as good as the production and the production was perfect.

I would recommend that anyone coming to perform in the area, or anyone performing having the need for a one-stop-shop production,  use Spot on Sound. I would recommend that the other companies take the time to see why they are so much better. The talent along with the equipment does matter. There is no substitute for great production.

We were a bit daunted at the prospect of making such arrangements many weeks in advance across an international border from many, many miles away…But through frequent phone and email contact, John was able to guide us through the process amazingly quickly and effectively.
